califmoleMany writers imagined a post-X-Files life for Krycek, but Logan did so with a unique richness of detail and characterization. At the start of the Second Grace series, Krycek is slowly putting together the pieces of a normal life, finding a job, making friends and reconnecting with his family. Then Mulder's arrival threatens to destroy all that he has worked for.
I like what she does with the Mulder/Krycek relationship. It's not all flowers and roses, in fact despite the intensity of their connection she's not afraid to show us just how unhealthy their relationship is. But slowly the relationship changes since Krycek isn't willing to play those games any more, and even Mulder realizes it is time to for second chances. And just as you hope they are ready to settle down for happily ever after, the peace they have found with each other is threatened by the lingering remnants of the conspiracy.
