Just discovered the Dreden kink meme. How can I not have seen this before?!

It's amazing how many of my friends and family need the Sherlock DVD set for Christmas. Most of them are unaware of this, but fortunately I know what's good for them and am prepared to supply it.

The reincarnation of V wasn't that gripping, and I've mostly been watching it to compare it to the original. Then last night, Alex Krycek showed up and got to talk about aliens coming to Earth. Yup, Nicholas Lea is playing the ex-husband of the FBI agent.

Now I'm waiting for the crossover fic. Surely it can't be long?

Once upon a time, when I was deep in my obsession with Farscape, I turned my hand to fanfic. I wrote three stories in a flurry of activity from October 2000 through February 2001. They were originally published on Sci-Fi's Farscape board under my userid Annigmatic, and then the final edited versions posted to my AOL website, and various other Farscape fanfic sites.

These days I'm a reader rather than writer, but since AOL killed off their websites, and many of the original Farscape sites are now defunct as well, I'm posting these on my blog for posterity's sake.

The stories are:

Return to Sender by Ann Harrington. Scorpius makes Crichton an offer he can't refuse. Written prior to the airing of "Liars, Guns & Money" series and "Die Me, Dichotomy." This was the winning entry submitted for Best Author, 2001 Farscape Fanfic Awards. Approx 24K words.

24 Hour Pass by Ann Harrington. John Crichton returns to Earth. This story won Best Overall Story, 2001 Farscape Fanfic awards. My personal favorite. Approx 15K words.

Bent by Ann Harrington. A short speculation on what might happen to Crichton after "Die Me, Dichotomy." Approx 2K words.

My Farscape stories were originally archived on AOL, but since AOL eliminated user websites, I'll be reposting them here on LJ.

Not dead yet. Surfacing to pass along a Farscape rec-- a dark/twisted AU where John is abandoned by Moya's crew in season 1, and ends up as Scorpius's possession. Serve the Servant by [livejournal.com profile] gigerisgod. The quasi-prequel Rotation is friends-locked, so you'll have to request that she friend you to be able to read. no longer friends-locked, so read away.

"Eat a live hissing cockroach, be first in line at the rollercoaster" (http://www.nationalledger.com/artman/publish/article_27268531.shtml). The news story is crying out for a fic.

CNN currently has a video on their website for the brave.

Ever have one of those dreams that is so real you are convinced that the events really happened when you wake up? I've had a few of those, including one where I spent most of the next day mad at my sister for something that had only happened in a dream.

I now have the fanfic equivalent. First it was a plotbunny and now I have the whole outline of a story wandering around my head. It's so fleshed out that it feels like a story that I've already read, and I can even make a guess as to which of my favorite authors wrote it. Over the past few days I've found myself on the verge of signing on to hunt it down and read it, and then each time had to remind myself that the story doesn't exist.

At least not in this universe. But I'm now convinced that somewhere there's an AU-Earth where it's already been written and posted.
